WoW Midnight Factions & Renown Guide: Every Faction, Reward and the Fastest Way to Max Them
10 min read
Midnight's renown system is one of those things that looks simple on the surface and then turns into a spreadsheet problem the moment you start thinking about it. Four factions, each with 20 ranks at 2,500 reputation per rank, each tied to a specific zone, each with its own weekly event and quartermaster and reward track. Straightforward enough until you realize that certain gear rewards unlock at specific renown thresholds and the order you push factions in actually matters if you care about gearing efficiently versus just collecting things that look nice.
Most guides on this topic treat all four factions equally and tell you to "just do your weeklies." That's not wrong exactly, but it ignores the fact that The Singularity gives you a Champion trinket at Renown 7 while Silvermoon Court's comparable gear unlock doesn't show up until Renown 9, and if you're splitting your reputation evenly across all four tracks during your first few weeks you're going to hit useful breakpoints significantly slower than someone who focused one faction at a time. At KingBoost we've been helping players with Midnight renown grinding since launch and the most common mistake we see is this: people spreading their weekly rep income across four factions like peanut butter instead of stacking it where it matters first.
This guide covers every faction, every quartermaster location, every major reward and the priority order that actually makes sense depending on whether you care about gear, mounts, cosmetics or all of the above.
How Renown Works in Midnight

Before diving into the individual factions, here's how the system works at a structural level since a few things changed from The War Within.
Renown is warband-wide from the start. Reputation earned on any character counts toward the same track, so you don't need to grind on every alt separately. Each faction caps at Renown 20 with 2,500 reputation per rank, meaning you need a total of 50,000 reputation to fully max a single faction. After hitting 20, you enter the Paragon system where every additional 2,500 reputation awards a Paragon Bag with loot and currency.
All four factions share the same purchase currency: Voidlight Marl. This drops from Delves, quest rewards and various activities across Midnight zones. You'll accumulate Marl naturally as you play, but it's worth knowing that buying everything from every quartermaster requires a lot of it, so budgeting matters if you're trying to grab specific mounts or gear early. If you need help with getting enough Voidlight Marl to cover your needs, Kingboost’s got the best deal for that.
You can check your renown standings through the Journeys tab in your Adventure Journal (default keybind: Shift+J).
Faction Overview
Faction | Zone | Quartermaster | Location | Weekly Event | Unlock Quest |
Silvermoon Court | Eversong Woods | Caeris Fairdawn | Saltheril's Haven (/way 43.5 47.4) | Saltheril's Soiree | Saltheril's Haven |
Amani Tribe | Zul'Aman | Magovu | Amani'zar Village (/way 45.8 65.8) | Abundance | The Line Must be Drawn Here |
Hara'ti | Harandar | Naynar | The Den (/way 51.0 50.8) | Legends of the Haranir | The Council Assembles |
The Singularity | Voidstorm | Void Researcher Anomander | Howling Ridge (/way 52.6 72.8) | Stormarion Assault | Magister's Terrace: Homecoming |
Each faction unlocks early in its zone's storyline. By the time you finish leveling through all four zones you'll have all four renown tracks active and naturally earning the rep.
Reputation Sources, All Factions

Every faction pulls reputation from roughly the same set of activities, with a few faction-specific sources mixed in.
One-Time Sources (do these first, they front-load progress):
- Main campaign questline in the faction's zone (largest single reputation injection)
- Side storylines in the faction's zone
- Zone lore items (interactable objects scattered throughout each zone)
- Highest Peaks telescopes (returning feature from Dragonflight)
- Rare mob first kills (once per rare per week, also awards 50 renown per zone sweep)
Weekly Sources (your main ongoing income):
- Faction-specific weekly world event (Saltheril's Soiree, Abundance, Legends of the Haranir, Stormarion Assault)
- Weekly dungeon quest from Halduron Brightwing in Silvermoon City (lets you choose which faction gets the rep, one faction per week)
- Weekly PvP quests from Zerella in Falconwing Square (small amounts, choosable faction)
- Bountiful Delves (large reputation cache for a random faction, available twice per week)
- World Quests and Special Assignments in the faction's zone
Passive/Ongoing Sources:
- Profession Contracts (e.g. Contract: The Singularity from Inscription, gives bonus rep from any World Quest completion for a week)
- The World Awaits weekly quest during World Quests Bonus Event (2,500 rep for completing ten World Quests in Quel'Thalas, a full renown level)
The weekly dungeon quest from Halduron Brightwing is one of the best flexible tools in the system because you can direct a large chunk of weekly reputation into whichever faction you're currently prioritizing. Don't let this default to whatever faction you happened to pick last week, actively funnel it into the track you're pushing.
Silvermoon Court

Silvermoon Court is the first faction you encounter and the most complex because it's effectively five factions wearing a trenchcoat. The main Silvermoon Court track has its own renown progression, and underneath it sit four subfactions: Blood Knights, Farstriders, Magisters and Shades of the Row. Each subfaction has its own social-style reputation ranks (Interloper → Gossip → Guest → Socialite → Host → VIP) with its own vendor rewards.
Weekly Saltheril's Soiree Event
This is Silvermoon Court's signature weekly and it's honestly a clever piece of design wrapped in Blood Elf cocktail party aesthetics. Each week you visit Lord Saltheril at his Haven in Eversong Woods and pick up the quest "High Esteem", which lets you choose one of the four subfactions to champion for the week. Your choice is locked for the entire week and is warband-wide, so plan your rotation carefully if you're chasing the Life of the Party achievement.
Upon completing High Esteem, you receive Saltheril's Favor tokens that you distribute among the subfaction representatives to unlock additional daily quests. Your chosen subfaction also issues a "Fortify the Runestones" quest variant which delivers the largest single reputation gain in the weekly rotation, split between your chosen subfaction and the main Silvermoon Court track.
Higher renown ranks (4, 8 and 14) unlock additional Favor tokens per week through the Friend of the Court perk, so the grind actually gets slightly more efficient over time. Small mercy.
Important: Choosing a subfaction changes your standing with the other three, including reputation losses. If you're trying to max all four for Life of the Party and the Umbral Dragonhawk mount, plan a rotation. Picking the same subfaction every week because their cosmetics look good will leave you stuck with three subfactions at minimum standing for months.
Silvermoon Court Rewards
Renown | Reward | Cost |
2 | Champion 1/6 gear quest (Feet) | — |
9 | Champion 1/6 gear quest (Helm) | — |
12 | Dragonhawk Munchkin (Pet) | Voidlight Marl |
17 | Crimson Silvermoon Hawkstrider (Mount) | 6,000 Voidlight Marl |
19 | Fiery Dragonhawk (Mount) | 8,000 Voidlight Marl |
20 | Silvermoon Court Champion (Title) | — |
Bonus Mount: Umbral Dragonhawk from the Life of the Party achievement (max reputation with all four Silvermoon subfactions)
Quartermaster Location: Caeris Fairdawn at Saltheril's Haven, Eversong Woods (/way 43.5 47.4). The four subfaction representatives also have vendors at Saltheril's Haven.
If you love the "Silvermoon fantasy" and want your character and house to feel immediately Midnight-themed, this is the track that delivers. The subfaction system takes longer to fully complete than any other single faction because you're essentially grinding five reputation tracks through one weekly rotation, but the Umbral Dragonhawk at the end is one of the more prestigious mounts in the expansion specifically because it takes time that can't be shortcut.
Amani Tribe

The Amani Tribe is tied to Zul'Aman and represents the Amani trolls who have shifted from historical enemies to reluctant allies in the war against the Void. If you played original TBC and remember these guys as the raid bosses you killed in Zul'Aman, the faction dynamic is going to feel a little strange. They're friendly now. Mostly.
Weekly Abundance Event
Abundance is the Amani Tribe's weekly world event, running across all Midnight zones (not just Zul'Aman). It's built around a contribution-style gathering system where you participate in zone activities to fill a community progress bar. It's the least complex weekly event of the four and probably the most "show up, do stuff, get rep" straightforward option.
Amani Tribe Rewards
Renown | Reward | Cost |
2 | Champion 1/6 gear quest | — |
9 | Champion 1/6 gear quest (Neck) | — |
12 | Blitzcreek (Pet) | Voidlight Marl |
17 | Amani Blessed Bear (Mount) | 6,000 Voidlight Marl |
19 | Amani Windcaller (Mount) | 8,000 Voidlight Marl |
20 | Amani Tribe Champion (Title) | — |
Quartermaster Location: Magovu in the main building of Amani'zar Village, Zul'Aman (/way 45.8 65.8)
The Amani Tribe is a strong track for players who want Loa-themed transmog (the Loa-Blessed set is spread across multiple renown ranks), tribal housing decor and some of the most visually distinctive mounts in Midnight. The Amani Blessed Bear at Renown 17 is a crowd favorite for obvious reasons if you remember the original ZA bear runs.
Hara'ti

The Hara'ti are the Haranir faction based in Harandar, defending the cradle of their Goddess in hopes that she'll one day return. This faction has a nature-infused visual identity and if you enjoy lush vibes, weapon collections and housing decor that feels alive, this is the renown track to push early.
Legends of the Haranir, Weekly Event
Legends of the Haranir is a weekly event where you interact with relic stories in Harandar. There are 7 relics total and they rotate one per week, meaning the full cycle takes 7 weeks minimum. This is relevant if you're chasing the Brilliant Petalwing mount from the Light Up the Night meta-achievement, since one of its sub-achievements requires completing all 7 Legends scenarios.
You can speed things up slightly by using alts for the first 5 relics, but the final 2 only unlock after the first 5 are done on a single character. Don't miss weeks on this if the Petalwing is on your list.
Hara'ti Rewards
Renown | Reward | Cost |
2 | Champion 1/6 gear quest | — |
8 | Champion 1/6 gear quest (Belt) | — |
12 | Munchy Pet | Voidlight Marl |
17 | Fierce Grimlynx (Mount) + Arsenal: Arms of the Hara'ti (15+ weapon transmogs) | 6,000 Voidlight Marl |
19 | Cerulean Sporeglider (Mount) | 8,000 Voidlight Marl |
20 | Hara'ti Champion (Title) | — |
Bonus Mounts from Mothkeeper Wew'tam (/way 49.2 54.4):
Mount | Requirement | Cost |
Vivid Chloroceros | Catch 50 Glowing Moths | 10 Luminous Dust |
Elder Glowmite | Catch 120 Glowing Moths | 10 Luminous Dust |
Quartermaster Location: Naynar in the northern part of The Den, Harandar (/way 51.0 50.8)
The Arsenal: Arms of the Hara'ti at Renown 17 is one of the biggest single unlocks in any renown track since it drops 15+ weapon transmogs at once. If transmog collecting is your thing, this is a compelling reason to push Hara'ti to 17 relatively early. The Glowing Moth collection for Vivid Chloroceros and Elder Glowmite is a side grind that runs parallel to your normal Harandar activities, start early because 120 moths takes a while.
The Singularity

The Singularity is Midnight's void-themed faction based in Voidstorm, representing an unlikely alliance between the Ren'dorei (led by Magister Umbric) and the void-born domanaar Decimus. If you want cosmic visuals, void decor and darker transmog options, this is the track that delivers on that aesthetic.
Stormarion Assault (Weekly Event)
The Stormarion Assault is a public event in Voidstorm that functions as the faction's primary weekly reputation source. It's a repeated event rather than a one-and-done, so you can participate multiple times during its active window. The associated "Stand Your Ground" weekly quest provides a solid reputation chunk alongside the event itself.
The Singularity Rewards
Renown | Reward | Cost |
2 | Champion 1/6 gear quest | — |
7 | Champion 1/6 gear quest (Trinket) | — |
12 | Blitzcreek Pet | Voidlight Marl |
17 | Ravenous Shredclaw (Mount) | 6,000 Voidlight Marl |
19 | Voidbound Stormray (Mount) | 8,000 Voidlight Marl |
20 | Singularity Champion (Title) | — |
Quartermaster Location: Void Researcher Anomander on the lower level of the Howling Ridge, Voidstorm (/way 52.6 72.8). Take the first downward staircase next to the Howling Ridge portals, he's beside a void altar.
The Singularity's Renown 7 trinket is the earliest major gear breakpoint across all four factions, which is why it's the recommended first push for players focused on character power rather than cosmetics. The Collapsed Star transmog sets are also some of the most visually striking armor options in Midnight if you're into the void aesthetic.
Slayer's Duellum (Bonus Faction)

Worth mentioning separately because it operates on the traditional reputation system (Friendly → Honored → Revered → Exalted) rather than Renown. Slayer's Duellum is tied to PvP world objectives and awards three mounts at Exalted:
Mount | Cost |
6,000 Voidlight Marl (Exalted)
6,000 Voidlight Marl (Exalted)
Paragon Bag drop (post-Exalted) |
This faction runs alongside the main four and doesn't compete for the same weekly reputation sources, so you can progress it without slowing down your Renown pushes.

Optimal Push Order
This is where the "which faction first?" question gets answered, and the answer depends on what you're optimizing for.
For Gear Progression (Recommended for Fresh 90s)
- The Singularity to Renown 7 — Champion trinket, earliest gear unlock across all factions
- Hara'ti to Renown 8 — Champion belt
- Silvermoon Court to Renown 9 — Champion helm
- Amani Tribe to Renown 9 — Champion neck
This order gets you four Champion-track gear pieces in the fastest possible timeline by targeting the lowest-renown unlock first and working upward. After hitting these breakpoints, you can pivot to whichever faction has the rewards you care about most.
For Mount Collectors
- Silvermoon Court to Renown 17 — Crimson Silvermoon Hawkstrider, then continue pushing subfactions for Umbral Dragonhawk (long-term)
- Amani Tribe or Hara'ti to 17 — depending on whether you want the Amani Blessed Bear or the Fierce Grimlynx first
- Push all four to 19 for the second mount from each faction (8,000 Voidlight Marl each, budget accordingly)
For Housing/Cosmetics
Push whichever faction matches the aesthetic you want for your house. Silvermoon Court for refined Sin'dorei elegance, Amani Tribe for Loa-blessed tribal pieces, Hara'ti for nature-infused living decor, The Singularity for cosmic void items. There's no wrong answer here since it's entirely taste-driven.
Weekly Reset Routine
If you want a clean checklist for each reset, here's the order that maximizes reputation income per faction you're pushing:
- Do your faction-specific weekly event (Soiree, Abundance, Legends, or Stormarion) for your target faction
- Pick up the weekly dungeon quest from Halduron Brightwing in Silvermoon and direct it to your target faction
- Clear World Quests and Special Assignments in your target faction's zone (have the relevant Contract active from Inscription)
- Kill all rare mobs in your target zone (once per rare per week for rep, also 50 renown per full sweep)
- Complete 2 Bountiful Delves (random faction rep cache, not controllable, but generates Voidlight Marl simultaneously)
- Pick up weekly PvP quests from Zerella in Falconwing Square and direct the rep to your target faction
The most important thing is directing all your choosable reputation (dungeon weekly, PvP weekly) into whichever faction you're actively pushing rather than spreading it around. One faction hitting a meaningful breakpoint is always better than four factions sitting halfway to a breakpoint that does nothing for you.
Tips That Actually Save You Time
Don't skip side quests on your first pass through a zone. They give meaningful one-time reputation and skipping them means you'll stall at awkward renown levels later wondering why you're 400 rep short of the next rank. Do them once, forget about them forever.
Check for reputation buff events. Events like the World Quests Bonus Event let The World Awaits quest pay out a full 2,500 reputation (one complete renown level) for just ten World Quests. That's enormous value for minimal time.
The Chronicler sub-achievements for Legends of the Haranir are missable. Each weekly Legend scenario has interactable lore objects that count toward the Chronicler of the Haranir achievement. If you rush through the scenario without looking around, you'll miss them and have to wait for that week's rotation to come back around. Don't miss them or you're adding weeks to your timeline.
Voidlight Marl budgeting matters. Mount purchases at Renown 17 cost 6,000 Marl each. Renown 19 mounts cost 8,000. If you're trying to buy mounts from multiple factions, that adds up to 56,000 Marl across all eight vendor mounts. Plan your spending rather than impulse-buying the first thing that unlocks.
Can't Keep Up With the Weekly Grind?
Renown in Midnight is well-designed for players who can log in consistently every reset. The problem is that real life doesn't always coordinate with Azeroth's calendar. Missing a couple of weekly events means losing reputation that doesn't come back on the same timeline, and falling behind on time-gated content like Legends of the Haranir adds weeks to mount and achievement goals that already take long enough.
KingBoost's Midnight renown services handle the weekly grind across all four factions so you can hit the breakpoints that matter without reorganizing your schedule around reset timers. Whether you're pushing a single faction for a specific mount or working toward Midnight Diplomat across all four tracks, the service covers reputation farming, Voidlight Marl accumulation and all associated weekly activities. The mounts and transmog aren't going anywhere, but the weeks you spend not grinding toward them are weeks you don't get back.
