Fallen King Salhadaar Guide: Voidspire Raid Boss Strategy for WoW Midnight
Key Takeaways
- Fallen King Salhadaar is the third boss in the Voidspire raid, WoW Midnight Season 1
- The wipe condition is simple: Void Convergence spawns two orbs that drift toward the boss. If either orb reaches him, Void Infusion triggers and the raid wipes
- Kill the orbs separately. Destroying an orb applies Dark Radiation to the whole raid for 8 seconds. Wait for the debuff to expire before killing the second orb
- At 100 energy, Salhadaar enters Entropic Unraveling for 20 seconds: he takes 25% increased damage and is stationary. This is your burn window. Send every offensive cooldown here
- CC or interrupt Fractured Images immediately or they leave permanent puddles on the floor
- Lust on pull or during Entropic Unraveling. Recommended comp: 2 tanks, 2 to 5 healers depending on group size
- Salhadaar drops the Shoulders tier token (Unraveled Nullcore) and the Cosmic Ritual Stone toy
- Method rated this fight 4 out of 5, calling it one of the best encounters in the raid
Fight Overview
Fallen King Salhadaar is a one phase encounter on a repeating script. The boss passively gains energy from the surrounding Riftlab machinery throughout the fight. Periodically, the Riftlabs also produce Concentrated Void orbs that drift toward him. If an orb reaches Salhadaar, he consumes it and triggers Void Infusion, dealing massive raid damage plus a 1 minute DoT that will almost certainly wipe you. That is the hard wipe condition. Every orb must die before it reaches the boss.
When Salhadaar hits 100 energy, he enters Entropic Unraveling. He becomes stationary, takes 25% increased damage for 20 seconds and sends spinning Umbral Beams rotating clockwise around him. This is your damage amplification window. After it ends, he leaves a Torturous Extract puddle and the cycle resets.
The fight only gets harder if you handle mechanics poorly. Bad puddle placement eats arena space. Missed interrupts on Fractured Images create permanent ground damage. Sloppy orb timing stacks unnecessary raid damage. Play clean and Salhadaar dies. Play sloppy and the room turns into a disaster by the third cycle.
Core Mechanics
Void Convergence: Orb Management
On pull, the boss marks 2 of the 3 Riftlab gates with lightning beams. Those are the gates that will produce orbs. Void Convergence spawns two Concentrated Void orbs that slowly move toward Salhadaar. If an orb reaches him, Void Infusion fires and the raid wipes.
Tank the boss near a marked gate so you can cleave an orb while it approaches. Kill each orb one at a time because destroying an orb applies Dark Radiation to the entire raid, a stacking DoT that deals shadow damage every 2 seconds for 8 seconds. If you kill both orbs simultaneously you double stack the debuff and spike unnecessary healing pressure.
On Heroic, Dark Radiation always applies when orbs die (not just on contact). On Mythic, destroyed orbs are reactivated as Enduring Void during the next Void Convergence, meaning you eventually have more orbs to manage each cycle.
Players who physically touch an orb get Void Exposure, ticking shadow damage every second. Do not walk through orbs on your way to kill them. Attack from range or approach carefully.
Shattering Twilight
Salhadaar hurls a dark star at his current target. On impact it deals heavy shadow damage and creates Twilight Spikes that erupt outward from the impact location. On Heroic, the star bounces to several additional players after hitting the tank.
Every targeted player needs to point their spike eruptions away from the rest of the raid and away from the boss. The spikes persist and deal damage every 2 seconds to anyone standing in them. Bad placement here clutters the melee area and forces unnecessary movement.
Despotic Command
Several players get circles placed on them. For 12 seconds these circles deal shadow damage to anyone within 5 yards. When the circle expires, it drops a Torturous Extract puddle at the player's location and applies Oppressive Darkness, a healing absorb.
Move out with your circle and drop the puddle on the edge of the room. Healers need to dispel or heal through the absorb once the player has moved out. On Heroic, do not dispel early because that drops the puddle wherever the player is standing.
Fractured Projection: CC or Die
Salhadaar manifests several Fractured Images of himself. Each image casts Shadow Fracture. If the cast completes, it deals raid wide damage AND leaves a permanent Torturous Extract puddle on the ground. The image then disappears.
Any form of crowd control or an interrupt stops the cast and kills the image instantly. Assign CC responsibilities before the pull. If even one Shadow Fracture goes off uncontested, that is permanent floor space you never get back.
On Mythic, images are protected by Nexus Shield which requires you to break the shield before CC works. Each interrupted cast removes one application of the shield.
Entropic Unraveling: The Burn Window
At 100 energy, Salhadaar becomes stationary for 20 seconds. During this time he takes 25% increased damage and deals heavy ticking shadow damage to the entire raid. Spinning Umbral Beams radiate from him and rotate clockwise. Stay ahead of the beams and pump damage.
After Unraveling expires, Salhadaar leaves a Torturous Extract puddle where he was standing. The tank should position the boss to the side of the room before the phase starts so the puddle does not eat valuable center space.
This is where you send offensive cooldowns. If you are using lust during Unraveling instead of on pull, coordinate it so everyone is in position and not caught by the first beam rotation.
After Unraveling ends, Void Convergence fires again and the whole cycle repeats.
Destabilizing Strikes
Salhadaar's melee hits apply a stacking shadow DoT on the current tank. Swap at around 8 stacks or when the other tank's stacks have fallen off. This is a straightforward tank swap with no special tricks.
Twisting Obscurity
A bolt of dark energy that bounces between all players in the raid, dealing shadow damage on contact plus a 23 second DoT. This is unavoidable raid damage. Healers need to plan for it especially when it overlaps with Dark Radiation from orb kills.
Role Tips
Tanks: Swap on Destabilizing Strikes at around 8 stacks. Position the boss near a marked Riftlab gate so DPS can cleave orbs efficiently. Before Entropic Unraveling, move the boss to the side of the room so the puddle left after the phase does not eat center space. Shattering Twilight always hits the tank first, so make sure your spike eruptions point away from the raid.
DPS: Swap to Concentrated Void orbs immediately when they spawn. Kill them one at a time, not simultaneously. CC or interrupt every Fractured Image the instant it appears. Save offensive cooldowns for Entropic Unraveling, the 25% damage amp window. Stay ahead of the rotating Umbral Beams during that phase.
Healers: The biggest healing pressure comes from Dark Radiation stacking with Twisting Obscurity and the constant ticking during Entropic Unraveling. Plan your cooldown rotation around Unraveling phases because that is where raid damage peaks. Dispel Oppressive Darkness healing absorbs from Despotic Command targets after they have moved out and dropped their puddle.

Fallen King Salhadaar FAQ
What happens if an orb reaches the boss?
Void Infusion triggers, dealing massive raid damage plus a ticking DoT that lasts 1 minute. In practice this wipes the raid. Every Concentrated Void orb must be killed before it reaches Salhadaar.
Why should you kill orbs one at a time?
Destroying an orb applies Dark Radiation to the entire raid for 8 seconds. If you kill both orbs at the same time, you double stack the debuff and create a healing spike that can easily kill people. Kill the first orb, wait for Dark Radiation to expire, then kill the second.
When should you use Bloodlust on Salhadaar?
Either on pull for consistency or during Entropic Unraveling for the 25% damage amp. Using it during Unraveling gives higher theoretical value but requires everyone to be positioned correctly and ahead of the rotating beams. On pull is safer for progression.
How do you handle Fractured Images?
Any CC or interrupt kills them instantly. If a Fractured Image finishes its Shadow Fracture cast, it deals raid damage and leaves a permanent puddle. Assign CC responsibilities before the pull. On Mythic, you need to break their Nexus Shield before CC works.
Does Salhadaar drop a tier token?
Yes. Fallen King Salhadaar drops the Shoulders tier token (Unraveled Nullcore) for all four armor classes.
What toy drops from Salhadaar?
The Cosmic Ritual Stone, a Hearthstone themed toy. It is the only toy drop in the Voidspire raid and makes Salhadaar a popular weekly farm target even for players who do not need gear from this boss.
What is the achievement for Salhadaar?
It's Treason Then: defeat Fallen King Salhadaar after every player /kneels to him before the battle starts on Normal difficulty or higher.
